Monday Mischief: Cats Sleeping on My Bed!

Written by: Holly, A Pet’s Life®

Over the weekend my husband was out of town, so it was just me and the cats. We had a great time on Friday night. I had work to do and the cats spent the evening doing what they love to do:

Then it was time for bed. I decided to sleep in our guest room because the cats are not allowed in our bedroom (my husband is allergic and needs to have a few cat-free rooms in our home). This was going to be a night to remember.

The cats kept me up all night. I hated it and loved it at the same time. I had envisioned us snuggling all night long and waking up to see their sweet faces next to mine. Instead, it was a night of being attacked every time I moved a muscle. I would slightly move my foot and BAM three cats would pounce on top of my foot. They knocked over my water glass, tried to chew up my phone and moved my glasses to the other side of the room.

But guess where they spent the next day. In the bed, asleep :)

Needless to say I was tired all day on Saturday and looked forward to sleeping cat-free the following night.

That is so funny! I have tried the same thing several times when my husband is away, and always end up in the same boat – exhausted in the morning , while the cats snooze the day away! :D

All I know is that I didn’t learn my lesson. We’ll probably try again this weekend :)

Most of us sleep with the humans and don’t usually bother them until morning. We sleep too! They do have one complaint, however. We tend to sleep Horizontally taking up way too much of the bed space. MOL. Purrs and hugs, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Josette

I don’t mind if they take up space on the bed, but they were awake all night! Maybe when they get older they’ll be more comfortable sleeping at night with us. We’ll see!

BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Hilarious! One of the reasons I’m glad to have an upstairs cat not sleeping with me. He keeps the children awake all night instead. :)

I don’t think I could handle sleeping with them more often than once a month. I was exhausted the next day!

Yes. I always tell them to stay awake during the day so we can play! But they don’t listen :) I do love having them nap next to me on the couch or on my lap though.
